Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas opens its doors in Malaysia

The first property from Anantara in Malaysia, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas has opened its doors on the country’s sunny south-eastern coast

Malaysia is the site of the newest Anantara property to open across the globe, with Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas being the first hotel from the brand in the country. Positioned on the south-east coast, guests can expect a luxurious stay coupled with indigenous-inspired hospitality and plenty of things to do.

Located along 17-kilometres of untouched beachfront, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas sits amid lush tropical gardens and offers 108 rooms and suites. 90 en-suite deluxe rooms are set within traditional low-rise Malay buildings that overlook the ocean, gardens and lagoon, while 13 standalone double storey pool villas draw design from traditional kampong houses.

Here, guests can expect features such as floor-to-ceiling windows, slanted carved wooden panels, louvres and vents under the roof, and wide-open doors that allow natural airflow to cool the interior. An array of indigenous materials and fabrics, including woven textiles, wicker elements and traditional Malay crafts can be found throughout the property.

Food & Beverage

A selection of dining options are available for guests at the property from the resort’s signature alfresco beachfront restaurant, Sea.Fire.Salt., to authentic Malaysian at The Turmeric or private dining with Anantara’s signature Dining by Design concept. Observatory Bar is also on hand for a drinking spot that offers 360-degree view of the resort and ocean.

Wellness

Two swimming pools are on offer at the hotel with a well-appointed health and fitness centre available. At the Anantara Spa, guests can enjoy treatments such as The Roots of Malaysia Massage that combines the healing traditions and techniques of Malaysia.
