Blending the rich culture of Mexico and French chic, Wilson Associates have created a uniquely designed property in Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

Located in the historic Reforma district of the city, Sofitel Mexico City is both the first Sofitel in Mexico and the first luxury hotel opening in the country’s capital in over a decade. With interior design led by Wilson Associates’ Dallas studio, the inspiration blends the French roots of the brand and the rich culture of Mexico City to create gorgeous spaces that everybody will enjoy.

The design

The property takes inspiration from its colourful surroundings

For this property, Wilson Associates wanted to create an immersive experience for both visitors and locals, highlighting vibrant Mexican culture within a French context. Two iconic architects from the 20th century: Le Corbusier and Mexican architect Luis Barragan, were used as inspiration for everything from the rich colour palettes to the spatial design and even the art curation.

A sculptural staircase on the lobby level of the property greets guests and allows them to move to the next level. The design for the staircase was inspired by a 35-millimetre film reel, giving a highly geometric look to the staircase.

L’Occitane amenities and Nespresso coffee machines are added extras in each room along with state-of-the-art technology like automated curtains and Bluetooth connectivity.
