Lanson Place Causeway Bay first opened its doors as a hotel in 2005 but recently it has been given a designer makeover by renowned designer Pierre Yves Rochon. The vision of blending French heritage sophistication with contemporary comforts is evident throughout the property. Each well-designed room has a soft colour theme with palettes of yellow, blue, or green, complementing a selection of high-end furnishings and weighty fabrics.

Towards the back of the ground floor is an open lounge area for guests to enjoy, where I enjoyed flipping through fashion and travel books to spark inspiration.

Pastel-hued guestrooms provide a soothing oasis and are spacious by Hong Kong standards. We stayed in the green XL room where comfy slippers, lush robes, and amenities by Codage from Paris pampered the senses. Everything here is high quality, the tea is artisanal, the bathroom meets all the needs, and the bed is made for melting into after a day of work meetings or touring around the island.

I really noticed the housekeeping and turndown service, and I was astounded by the team’s attention to every detail. Clothes were folded, laptop cords were managed with little branded Velcro ties, the minibar tea was refreshed, and pillows were exquisitely fluffed. I was delighted to find the pillow menu (#TheDream!) and late-night staff delivered a memory foam pillow in a flash.

If you’re looking to stay a while, it’s worth mentioning some of the rooms have kitchenettes attached.

Salon Lanson is where all of the dining experiences on the property take place. Taking up the entire first floor; it’s a vast space designed with elegance and light-filled spaces. On one end is the bar and dining area, while the other end leads towards a space for relaxation that opens onto a small outdoor balcony – a real treat for bustling Causeway Bay.

The hotel’s Cocktail Hour showcases three beverages every evening, each with a story displayed on a beautiful postcard keepsake. These are inspired by local neighbourhoods in Hong Kong, and the menu rotates daily. With a range of hors d’oeuvres, it’s a sensational experience and the ideal place to wind down following hours of shopping in the neighbourhood.

At dinner, the menu offers an array of home comforts done with a sense of class to match the exceptional room you’re sitting in. Think steak with mashed potatoes, delicate white fish, truffle fries, and prawn Caesar salad; dessert classics like creme brulée and ice cream round out the options.

The breakfast spread at Lanson Place offers a perfectly propertioned buffet selection. Eggs are ordered a la minute from the menu and be sure to sample the mini blueberry muffins. It’s good to note that breakfast here has a more formal vibe, and hotel slippers are a definite no-no.

Fitness

Business travellers will be delighted to know that, at Lanson Place, wellness is taken seriously. They have dedicated an entire floor to the gym, and on Sundays, they offer a complimentary morning yoga class. The space itself is pleasing to the eye and is the most well-equipped and chic gym I’ve seen in a hotel to date.

Located just steps away from Causeway Bay’s epic selection of shops and restaurants, yet offering a calm ambience, Lanson Place Hotel Hong Kong exudes effortless style, designer style, and genuine hospitality. Staff are endlessly gracious and accommodating, making it a top choice for both leisure and business travellers.
