New World Hoiana Beach Resort is a luxury gem with all the trimmings for an idyllic retreat. The sprawling property is an absolute oasis of splendour and relaxation, located just a stone throw away from the ancient city of Hoi An, Vietnam. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a world of stellar service, stunning design, and unparalleled comfort.

This new property waltzes to a refreshingly different beat. The lobby of the hotel is an impressive space, with soaring ceilings, an abundance of natural light, and sophisticated design details that pay homage to the local culture. The check-in process is seamless, and I’m greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and warm smiles.

As I make my way to my room, I can’t help but be impressed by the attention to detail that has gone into every aspect of the hotel. The hallways are lined with stunning artwork and intricate crafts, and the rooms themselves are a study in modern elegance.

Upon entering the exquisite room, I’m greeted by a symphony of elegance, where every detail has been meticulously curated to create a space that exudes sophistication. The spacious, thoughtfully designed room promises me nights of blissful slumber. A sumptuous white bed is soft and inviting, while the linens are crisp and clean. Warm touches abound – like the fluffy bathrobes and every amenity I could possibly need, available at my fingertips.

The rich, polished woodwork lends an air of refinement with just enough licks of burgundy and gold to up the chic-factor, while soft, neutral tones and plush furnishings create a calming ambiance. Other sleek additions I appreciated include the high-end rugs and handcrafted wooden furniture, all creating a singular design language.

The piece-de-resistance though is the generously sized balcony that overlooks the resort’s pools, offering an incredible view of the horizon. In fact, the vistas from the rooms are truly astounding, offering me an unfettered view of the lush greenery of the surrounding landscape and the sparkling waters of the South China Sea while I savour my morning coffee.

Food and drink

The wealth of culinary choices at New World Hoiana Beach Resort will delight even the most discerning palates. From exquisite fine dining experiences to casual and vibrant eateries, the hotel offers a diverse array of cuisines from around the world.

Morning breakfasts at Aroma were a true highlight for me. The spread is a visual marvel, featuring a copious array of delights: shatteringly crisp croissants and pastries warmed on the spot by expert chefs, steaming chafing dishes of dim sum, scrambled eggs cooked to perfection, artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and smoked salmon, inviting you to create your own delectable charcuterie platter and more. A cornucopia of vibrant colours and enticing presentations excite me — I can never resist a good buffet.

Over at Cove Bar & Grill, there is an air of spontaneity and guests are all seen to be busy socialising. Fronting the beach, the breezy space serves delectable seafood delicacies and specially concocted cocktails.

At The Terrace, we were treated to authentic Vietnamese dishes like soul-warming beef pho with its rich, fat-slicked broth accentuated with sprigs of aromatic herbs, tooth-shatteringly crunchy Vietnamese spring rolls, and my top pick— delicate rose-shaped banh bao banh vac with skins that yield a satisfying chew and more.

Around sunset, we headed up to The Edge, an infinity pool-lined spot with a gin-centric drink list curated by the in-house mixologist and a tantalising selection of mouth-watering tapas — perfect for more intimate tête-à-tête conversations.

The service and facilities

This sprawling beachfront estate is a whimsical wonderland of fun and activities. As with any resort, it’s all too easy to stay on property. I found myself gravitating towards the cabana-lined family pool at the heart of the resort, occasionally sauntering over to the adjoining Cove Bar & Grill to grab an iced Vietnamese coffee or a snack.

Zen-inducing hallmarks like a soothing spa, lush landscaping and plenty of open space add an element of calm to the mix. A fitness centre equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, ensures that one can maintain their fitness regime even while away from home (I must confess that while I admired the extensive equipment, I didn’t get down to it).

Apart from these, there were plenty of activities like cooking classes and stand up paddling sessions that kept me suitably occupied. The hotel’s fuss-free service is executed to near-perfect levels — from the unintrusive delivery of fresh towels to ensuring my every need is met with utmost care and attention, this luxury hotel seamlessly blends refined elegance with contemporary comforts.

In addition to the exceptional service and world-class facilities, the adjoining Hoiana casino offers more than 140 gaming tables and over 300 electronic games to keep players suitably entertained. Golf lovers and novices (like myself) can indulge in a game at the Hoiana Shores Golf Club, set against unspoiled natural terrain, framed by majestic views of the Eastern Sea. The 18-hole championship golf course created by Robert Trent Jones Jr, was awarded Best Golf Course in Vietnam 2022, by Vietnam Golf & Leisure Awards.

Final thoughts

In short, New World Hoiana Beach Resort provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. From the stunning design to the impeccable service, every aspect of the hotel made me feel pampered and relaxed. It’s a sanctuary that invites you to unwind, escape the ordinary, and experience a level of comfort that exceeds your highest expectations.

And with its stunning location, it provided me with the perfect base from which to explore the quaint city of Hoi An. Remember to leave time to graze around the cacophonous, bustling night market, which unfurls just a short distance from the premises.
