Sitting atop K11 Musea in Tsim Sha Tsui, K11 Artus is not a hotel. This artisanal home concept offers a unique place for lovers of deign to bed down in Hong Kong. Communal spaces are filled with traditional Chinese crafts, books, games, and various antiques that you could spend hours perusing. Each residence is outfitted with top-of-the-line brands (think Dyson, Kohler, and De’Longhi) and comes complete with kitchen, bathtub, and Aesop amenities. The infinity pool is unlike any other and we’re obsessed with views from restaurant Commune.

2. St. Regis Hong Kong
With stunning design by Hong Kong’s own André Fu, there’s no way that the St. Regis could be left off any list of the best design hotels in Hong Kong! We love the vibes of being in your really rich best friend’s mansion and the service here is impeccable. Add in the delectable (and Michelin-starred) food, and it’s easy to see why we’ve fallen in love.

3. The Hari Hong Kong
Londoners may have already checked out the Belgravia locay, but The Hari Hong Kong launched with a buzz at the close of 2020. We’re completely besotted with the restaurants (Zoku does some of the finest Japanese in town, while pretty much everything at Lucciola is to die for) and the design… Tara Bernerd has outdone herself here. From the welcoming entrance hall to the book-filled lobby and the gorgeous suites. And don’t get us started on those views. Best of the best? Some of the most remarkable service in town.

4. The Fleming
Taking its design inspiration from the iconic cross-harbour ferry, The Fleming exudes chic classic interiors with pops of colour. From the moment you check-in at reception little details can be seen everywhere, including bathrooms with floors covered in real money. We love the way the brass fittings contrast with striped fabrics and forest green tiles, plus the bright red lifts with circular mirrors are just gorgeous. Do yourself a favour and be sure to check out adjoining restaurant Osteria Marzia while you’re there.

A list of boutique hotels in Hong Kong would not be complete without this beauty. Oh, we just love checking into Eaton HK. A vibrant and quirky space, everything from the Wes Anderson-style swimming pool on the roof to the colourful lobby screams for photos to be taken.

Known as Hong Kong’s first ever warehouse-turned-hotel, Ovolo Southside is nestled in the heart of trendy Wong Chuk Hang. 12. FWD House 1881
The former Marine Police Headquarters from 1881, this now restored complex harks back to a bygone era. For something completely different, book yourself in for a few nights at Tai O Heritage Hotel on the island of Lantau. Formerly the Tai O Marine Police Station, this gorgeous property retains the original architecture and has been updated inside to please the modern traveller.
