There’s an ever-growing number of exquisite wellness resorts in Taiwan, winter hotels, and design hotels in Taipei but none captures the attention of book lovers quite as much as Eslite Hotel. Find out why we’re obsessed below.

Review of Eslite Hotel, Taipei

If you’re anything like us (suckers for really well thought out design and architecture) then you’ll undoubtedly fall for Eslite Hotel. Housed in a building designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Toyo Ito, the hotel is part accommodations, part library, and part art gallery, with every space imbued with touches of local craftsmanship.

The service at the hotel is absolutely impeccable, with no request seemingly too big for the friendly and knowledgable staff. Another highlight of the property is its proximity to eslite Spectrum Songyan, a store covering multiple floors and packed with creative goods by local makers, restaurants, tea shops, and a branch of the famed bookshop itself.

The guestrooms at Eslite Hotel

The hotel is home to just 104 rooms, each modern in design with various photos of Taiwan on the walls. When we stayed, we appreciated the lovely high ceilings in our suite, and the floor-to-ceiling windows allows an excellent view of the neighbouring park. There’s even a balcony attached to enjoy some time with a good book or evening drinks with friends as the sun goes down.
