Indonesia’s island paradise is a firm favourite here at The Hotel Journal. From the eco-friendly hotels of Bali to the best hotel swimming pools and those unbeatable beaches, it’s no wonder that the world is waiting with bated breath for the hot spot to open up. And when it does, Anantara Ubud Bali Resort may want to be your first point of call.
The third property on the island from Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Anantara Ubud Bali Resort can be found amid the traditional hillside village of Payangan. Just a 1.5-hour drive from Bali’s international airport and 35 minutes from the centre of Ubud by car, guests can expect the signature luxury stylings that the brand has become synonymous with.
“Ubud is one of the last remaining lush green areas of Bali which puts us in a prime position to develop a premium eco-friendly resort for the discerning luxury traveller,” explains Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, the parent company of Anantara. “With breathtaking views of the island’s uplands right on the doorstep, from terraced rice fields, Hindu temples and cultural immersions at every turn, we look forward to welcoming our guests to the new Anantara Ubud in 2022.”
Designed by EDC International Sdn. Bhd, and inspired by the study of local architecture influenced by Hindu traditions and juxtaposed with Javanese elements, 85 guestrooms and one- and two-bedroom pool villas await. A selection of restaurants serve sustainable local and international cuisine, with locally sourced organic produce being the daily highlight.
Foot massage pods, a hair salon, and relaxing treatment rooms will be ready to welcome guests at the spa where visiting wellness practitioners will offer a range of holistic Balinese treatments.
Expect a gym and an infinity pool to help with relaxation and there are even dedicated kids’ and teens’ clubs to keep all ages happy.
We can’t wait to visit!
