Sublime’s Lisbon outpost is right in the heart of the city, located inside an elegant townhouse which has traditional exteriors. Smack bang in the middle of Lisbon’s iconic pink street (renowned for its nightlife) Pensão Amor finds its home in a former madam’s lodge. The result is a small collection of boutique rooms, all themed around iconic ladies who once worked in the area. We were in Suite 51, which came complete with a swing, a disco ball and a freestanding bathtub. Decked out in rich blues and reds and with patterned wallpaper everywhere, it was a fever dream of frivolity, and a fun stop for a night or two. 

The rest of the property is made up of a bar and a cabaret where you can catch various burlesque performances, depending on the week. This is not for the faint of heart, and the hotel really leans into its past with vending machines and minibars choc full of pleasure toys. While we found the noise from the street unnoticeable most nights, on Saturday night, I was awoken by the partying. One other thing to note is that check-in is not until 5pm.
