If you know about hotel design then you know about Bill Bensley, and he’s the designer behind this beautiful property. Creating a fictional 19th-century French university (see main image) on the beach front, Bensley’s resort is a must-stay for any design-loving traveller en-route to Phu Quoc.
From the scalloped-edge swimming pool to the elegant and stately rooms that hark back to the island’s past, a stay here will add a little extra glamour to your holiday. The photo ops at the restaurants and bars alone are enough to make us want to get back there ASAP.

The newest property to make the list having opened in early 2022, Regent Phu Quoc is what beach holiday dreams are made of. Nestled on a private beachfront location in Long Beach, for the creation BLINK Design Group was inspired by the tropical abundance of the island and the tranquil vibes surrounding the property.
Each of the 176 suites and 126 villas offer sanctuary-like spaces for hotel guests with minimal calm interiors and sweeping sunset views. Located on the southwest coast of the island, La Veranda Resort blends classic style with traditional Vietnamese elements to create a unique tribute to a bygone age. The resort is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and at the centre sits a French colonial-style mansion taking you back in time to old Phu Quoc.
Rooms are tiled, with claw foot baths, four-poster beds and wooden elements contrasting minimal colour palettes. Enjoy dining at one of the restaurants, cafes, or bars and watch the world go by here.

If villa life is what your holiday dreams are made of, then you definitely need to consider Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort as homebase on the island. With 217 villas to choose from (each with a private swimming pool nonetheless), the property boasts two pristine beaches and stunning ocean views.
In terms of the interiors, expect chic modern spaces that let the views do the talking. Warm wood contrasts with crisp whites and metal finishes here and we love the mod-cons. And if you can drag yourself away from your own private space, you won’t want to miss getting pics on the multi-layer swimming pool – #DoingItForTheGram.

With a focus on sustainability, Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island combines modern facilities with authentic Vietnamese service. At this boutique hotel, you’ll enjoy a soulful stay that feeds the senses from the spa to the surrounding beaches.
Grab a sea-view villa and awake to the sound of the water lapping against the shore. Roughly 70% of the resort’s land is beautifully lush garden, so you’re bound to spot native butterflies and birds as you make your way to the stunning swimming pool.
Hungry? With local fare on offer as well as Indian, Italian, and international cuisine, we’re pretty sure you’ll want for nothing during your stay. Don’t miss touring the hotel’s art collection that tells the stories of old Vietnam.

With architecture inspired by the unique location, Chen Sea Resort & Spa is a wonderful option for anyone looking to get back to nature. Perched in a secluded bay and surrounded by rainforest, this beachfront boutique hotel in Phu Quoc guarantees both privacy and serenity.
36 villas wait to welcome you, each decked out in minimal interiors and built using natural materials. We love the Jacuzzi Villa, complete with enclosed bamboo terrace and featuring stunning interior roof design, a Hoi An tradition.

Want to completely disconnect for your holiday (or at least part of it?) Located over 10 hectares of stunning beachfront, Mango Bay claims to be the antithesis of luxury, and we’d say it’s more barefoot chic.
With just 44 rooms and villas (each of which is sans TV, air con, and phone), the resort hopes to take people back to an easier time, when things were slower and people were more conscious about the planet. Expect rustic finishes with four-poster beds and rammed earth villas here.

Full disclaimer, if you stay here, your friends will be super jealous. It’s impossible to take bad pics at this resort that is designed around a stunning circular central swimming pool. The beach is so clear and dreamy that you will want to float around all day, and the beach bar is the perfect place to whet your whistle between dips.
On the room front, all the villas have their own pools, and we love the way the resort is designed for maximum privacy. Wood features heavily here (sunken wooden bath, anyone?) with shells used as dividers and neutral colours. Oh, and did we mention that the spa is all-inclusive? Meaning that you can try a different massage or facial every day.
