From the Bellyard in Atlanta to Hyatt Regency Koh Samui in Thailand and the Arca in Hong Kong, new hotels continue to open across the globe, despite restricted travel. Located in the Arava Valley in the south of the Negev Desert (around a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Tel Aviv), we’ve been anticipating the launch of Six Senses Shaharut for a while now, and the property promises reinvigorating experiences at every turn.

Six Senses Shaharut opens in August

The resort

Comprising just 60 suites and villas, Six Senses Shaharut offers guests a unique desert experience in modern interpretations of nomadic structures. Recalling the Nabataean community that occupied the area over 200 years ago, the eco-friendly architecture blends seamlessly with the surroundings to heighten the connection with nature.

The interiors at the resort are filled with furniture and fittings from local artisans crafted from natural stone, wood and copper. Doors have been custom made from the wood of old boats and bridges, with some over 200 years old.

With two restaurants, a lounge and a bar, the dining programme at the resort ensures that guests can sample an array of Middle Eastern and Israeli cuisine.

Six Senses Spa Shaharut includes six treatment rooms and includes saunas, steam rooms and hammams. Two swimming pools (one indoor, one outdoor) and a fully-equipped gym studio are also available onsite.
