Set to open in the third quarter of 2024, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy promises to be a luxe addition to the Thai capital’s accommodation options. Nestled in Nai Lert Park’s tropical gardens, the property includes a 52-suite Aman hotel and an Aman Wellness outpost, along with an Omakase restaurant, a Teppanyaki restaurant, and 39 Aman branded residences.

The debut property for the luxe brand in Japan, Six Senses Kyoto is getting ready to open its doors in the historic Higashiyama district of the city in April 2024. Centred around a peaceful courtyard, each of the 81 guestrooms features design aesthetics inspired by local folklore, The Moon Rabbit, and the 11th-century classic Tale of Genji.
Six Senses Spa blends healing with Japanese Zen culture and features treatments and programmes rooted in Kyoto’s traditions.

Set to open its doors in early 2024, Cardo Roma, Autograph Collection sits in the bustling Esposizione Universale Roma (EUR) district. The property was originally designed by the world renowned architect Lucio Passarelli, and the extensively renovated hideaway features 324 rooms and suites, designed by Amsterdam-based Saar Zafrir.
Guests can expect a visual ode to the ancient city throughout the spaces with a palette that pays homage to the Roman Empire with rich olive green, warm terracotta, and subtly sophisticated off-white shades.
Two dining destinations are on offer, the first serving authentic Italian cuisine and the second shaking up stellar cocktails in a space ready to host international DJ acts. Relax at one of the four onsite pools or head to Olea Wellness and Spa to indulge in a treatment.

Brought to life by the creative team at Blink Design Group, Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake opened its doors in January 2024. Inspired by Lingnan culture and the ancient villages that surround the property, 141 guestrooms and 18 villas, all connected by corridors or floating bridges, offer panoramic lake and mountain views.
“Our aim was to create an atmosphere in which guests can not only experience the service and international design of a top hotel during their stay but also immerse themselves in Lingnan culture, which really is exceptional and must be preserved,” said Blink founder Clint Nagata.

Energetic, entertaining, and eye-catching throughout, lyf Ginza threw its opening party on January 16, packed with the creative professionals who adore this playful brand.
In a backstreet of the storied Ginza district and less than 10 minutes on foot from Tokyo Station, lyf Ginza has 140 rooms across eight categories. Each of the rooms, as well as café and bar areas, are bright and modern and enjoy manga-inspired décor.
Open-plan, the common areas are designed to encourage creativity, freedom and curiosity, says Eri Inoue – who goes by the title Cluster lyf Champion rather than the more mundane ‘manager’.
“lyf is a new co-living concept, designed for and managed by millennials,” she told The Hotel Journal. “Other hotels are a place to stay or for an event; our concept is to make a place where people can belong, a community.”
Central to that are the co-working lounge, a ‘social kitchen’, gym, and a laundry room for guests staying a little longer. The ground floor cafe – appropriately named Refuel – is open throughout the day and also caters to non-guests.
The second lyf property in Japan, after Fukuoka, Singapore-based The Ascott Ltd has ambitious plans to expand in the country, with an announcement about a third lyf hotel expected in the coming months.

Opening its doors on 21 January in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, Dar Tantora The House Hotel celebrates the cultural legacy of the region. Harnessing architectural techniques typical of the location, this earthen hotel preserves the ancient aesthetic and offers guests a unique insight into how people originally lived in the Old Town.
The 30-room hotel includes an infinity pool with oasis views as well as a range of wellness treatments at the spa with ingredients harvested locally. A range of local arts and crafts experiences, including culinary activities are available and the hotel is in close proximity to local highlights including AlJadidah Arts District.

After undergoing a transformation project that took almost a year, the iconic Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah has reopened its doors. Now offering guests access to 149 rooms and 54 suites with breathtaking views, the property pays homage to its local roots through the design, and each guest is assigned a Personal Concierge to attend to every detail of their stay.
The nine dining experiences were also refurbished and include a Japanese sushi and teppanyaki experience along with an American-style steakhouse.

The first Mondrian property to launch in Greater China, Mondrian Hong Kong has opened its doors to guests. Home to 324 rooms, inclusive of 12 suites, the property sits in Tsim Sha Tsui and offers sweeping views of the harbour. The design style blends contemporary art pieces with nods to the local history of Hong Kong.
Brought to life by local designer Joyce Wang, Carna is a nose-to-tail Italian steakhouse by butcher Dario Cecchini, while Avoca serves elegant cocktails on the 38th floor.

Slated to open its doors on 10 January 2024, Soneva Secret is the third Soneva property to launch in the Maldives. Promising barefoot luxury and unspoiled natural beauty, the hotel is located in the remote atoll of Haa Dhaalu.
Home to just 14 beach and overwater villas, each feature details such as sliding roofs for star-gazing and direct access to the beach or lagoon. Each villa comes complete with Barefoot Guardian and Assistant along with a private chef for bespoke culinary experiences.
Guests can also enjoy dinner at Out of This World, accessible by zipline; So Primitive, which features a beachside fire pit; and The Living Room for casual fare.

With design by the award-winning Kengo Kuma, The Tokyo Ginza Edition is set to open in early 2024. Home to 86 rooms, including 10 luxe suites, the property features clean lines that echo Japanese elegance at every turn.
Offering four dining venues, the hotel is home to Japan’s first punch-focused cocktail bar and also houses a brasserie and a rooftop bar.

The first venture for the Irish-born The Address Collective will launch in Glasgow, Scotland in early 2024. Nestled in a classical listed building originally designed for Lancashire Insurance Company in the 1890s, this luxe urban retreat has been transformed into a designer haven.
Offering 95 beds across six storeys, the property will also feature a wellness spa complete with gym, plunge pool, heated loungers, and a Himalayan salt rock sauna. For dining, North, an open plan eatery and cocktail bar located on street level, will offer all-day dining and expertly crafted cocktails and drinks for both guests and visitors.
Owner Brian McGettigan says of the opening: “Our commitment to the city of Glasgow goes beyond hospitality. We’re creating over 80 jobs and investing in the local community because we believe in the bright future of this dynamic city. We’ve chosen Glasgow because we love the people, the culture and can’t wait to raise the bar for luxury stays in Scotland.”

Set to open in autumn of 2024, Cheval Blanc Seychelles (main image) will be the fifth opening for LVMH Hotel Management. Designed by renowned hotel architect Jean-Michel Gathy, the property was conceived to feel like home and pays homage to its natural surroundings.
With 52 villas, each with a private pool, guests will have the choice of beachfront, hillside, or jungle views. Other highlights include a selection of restaurants including Italian and French cuisine, art works by local creators, and a range of Guerlain well-being rituals at the Spa Cheval Blanc.

Located between Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, 21 Carpenter is a heritage hotel that finds its home in the former remittance house. Meticulously restored and updated by local architectural firm WOHA, the property sits across four former shophouses and includes a contemporary five-storey extension.
Art and design is central to the opening, with a curated range of pieces by local makers across the hotel. Soon to open on street level, Kee’s will serve European-inspired bistro fare with a selection of local classics. Guests will also enjoy relaxing at the rooftop lounge which includes a striking infinity pool.

Nestled in the heart of the Finnish capital, The Hotel Maria has opened its doors in the historic Kruununhaka district. Home to 117 rooms, including 38 elegant suites, the property is spread across four heritage buildings dating back to 1885. Interiors were tasked to Head Designer Jana Sasko and Puroplan, with many of the site’s original features celebrated, including elaborate ceiling details.

Hyatt Place Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall has opened its doors in the southern Malaysian state of Johor. An easy visit from neighbouring Singapore, the 202-room property is attached to the largest shopping mall in the city, Paradigm Mall.

Inspired by the colour and culture of Singapore’s Straits heritage, Artyzen Singapore has opened its doors in the West Orchard neighbourhood. Featuring a vertical oasis, including a 25-metre cantilevered infinity pool for relaxation and calm in the city, ONG&ONG were tasked with the architecture for the hotel with Nic Graham & Associates completing the interior design.
Each of the 142 rooms include a balcony, luxe bathrooms, and all of the suites include large, landscaped sky terraces with sun decks and outdoor furniture.
Acclaimed Chef Victor Liong from Melbourne helms Quenino, which celebrates the cuisine and flavours from the people of the Straits Settlements.
